Thank you for your interest in my practice. Every aspect of Avery Orthodontics is designed to pursue my vision of achieving exceptional results that our patients love. This is done by incorporating modern treatments unique to each patient's individual needs with friendly service and compassionate care. I love orthodontics because my purpose is to directly enhance the quality of my patient's lives. Orthodontic treatment is not simply straightening teeth or fixing a bite, it is an exciting and rewarding experience. Parents ask me to to be a small but important piece of the overall puzzle that leads to the confidence young people need for future success and I could not take that task more seriously. Adult patients, meanwhile, are often surprised at how many options we have to meet their needs and how smoothly the treatment process can unfold.
As an orthodontic specialist I am well versed in many different orthodontic techniques. The methods and products I use are carefully chosen with regard to scientific evidence of effectiveness and clinical experience. Every patient is presented with multiple options that I deem will be both effective and easily tolerated. Rest assured that while there are no "magic" systems as many marketing schemes may want you to believe, my primary goal is always to achieve a long-lasting, fantastic result as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Barnett completed a full four years of formal university orthodontic training following dental school. During his orthodontic residency, he concurrently earned a master's degree in Cellular and Structural Biology. Dr. Barnett is currently an associate professor of clinical orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he travels every other Friday to teach the orthodontic residents.

Dr. Barnett is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics after completing the voluntary board examination process through the only orthodontic board recognized by the American Dental Association and American Association of Orthodontists.

During his leisure time, as a native of Austin should, he does many of the great things Austinites enjoy that make our city unique. He loves attending University of Texas games, listening to as much live music as possible, boating on the area lakes, and running or biking the Lady Bird Lake trail and area greenbelts. You may see him at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, at one of our unique restaurants in south Austin, or at the dog park with his boxer, Lyla. He also enjoys spending as much time with his family and friends as possible.
